# After I started learning songs by Streetlight Manifesto, I noticed that some songs
# have chord progressions that are similar... and sometimes the same. Not too long
# ago, I got the idea to put a medley together - Much like the infamous
# Point/Keasbey Nights/Counterpoint that every SM loves so much. Except this
# one isn't quite as epic, and it contains a few more songs. 5 to be exact. So, I put
# one together last night containing 12341234, The Big Sleep, Supernothing,
# One Foot On the Gas, One Foot In the Grave, and Somewhere In the Between.
# This is a rough version, and I'm sure it could be better. These tabs are not my
# own, I got them from this site, though I did make a change here and there. If
# you have any questions, comments or suggestions feel free to email me [email protected].

# Streetlight Medley

# Words and Music by Tomas Kalnoky

# Arranged by Matt Warunek

--------------------

C C
You, you try, you try to get by.
Am Am
"You're never going to pull it off", "You shouldn't even try"
F F
"You're a wet cigarette", "You're always second best",
G G
but they're never going to give a shit about anybody but themselves.
C C
so you fight for them to realize;
Am Am
there's more to life, there's more to you, there's more than meets the eye.
F F
And when you're done, the battle's been won.
G G
You sit back, you smile and this is what you hum, you hum:

-----------------------|
-----------------------|
-----------------------|
-----------------------|
------3-5-5b7r5-3------|
--3-5------------------|

C C
Na, na, na, na, na, na

G G
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na

Am Am F F
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

C C
Na, na, na, na, na, na

G G
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na

Am Am F F
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

C C G G Am Am
When as you close your eyes for the big sleep

F F
I hope you think of me, yeah

C C
Na, na, na, na, na, na

G G
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na

Am Am F F
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

C C Am Am F F G G
He wakes up sad again and he wonders when the rain will end,
C C Am Am F F G G
She acts like she don't care cause to her it's just a game, that he plays,
C C Am Am F F
I'm a super, I'm a nothing, I'm a no one, goin' nowhere fast,

G G C C
But I don't care, but I don't care,
Am Am F F
I'm a super, I'm a nothing, I'm a no one, goin' nowhere fast,
G G C C,Am Am,F F,G G
But I don't care, but I don't care.

C C
The years go by, the time it does fly.
Am Am
Every single second is a moment in time that
F F
passes oh, so quick and it seems like nothing,
G G
but when you're looking back, well it amounts to everything.
C C
I've got myself. I've got my friends.
Am Am
I've got my little family, but that's not where it ends.
F F
This one goes out to you, it goes out to everyone.
G G
It's in the name of honesty because life has just begun.

C C F F G G C C
Started with six or seven, moved on to eight or nine. What will you do when they come
you?
C C F F G G C C
Nobody seemed to notice, nobody seemed to mind. What will you do when they come for you?
C C F F G G C C
Little miss demissed can't miss like a detuned radio. I cannot believe you when you tell
what you know
C C F F G G
C C
And nothing will be broken if your house is made of stone. But you will know as I do it
never be a home

Am Am F F C C G G
We want it, they got it. They claim we'll die without it
Am Am F F C C G G
But something tells me they are wrong

F F G G

C C F F G G C C
So what will you do when they call your name and you're not ready to go?
C C F F G G C C
Everyone will stare at you and tell you what you know
C C F F Am Am G G
That you're in too deep and you can't quite keep your secrets, one and all
F F G G C C Am Am
We might just make it after all, on our own
F F G G C C C C
We might just make it after all
F F G G C C Am Am
But we had one foot on the gas and one foot in the grave
C C F F G G C C
Everyone was laughing when we said we had it made
C C F F G G G G
Everyone was laughing when we said we had it made

C C Am Am
All the times he said he would she never really understood,
F F G G C C
What he said, or what he meant, he won't forget what wasn't said,
C C Am Am F F G G
He'll find himself alone standing in the rain, yeah, yeah, yeah,
C C Am Am F F
I'm a super all or nothin', I'm a no one, going nowhere fast,
G G
But I don't care,
C C Am Am F F
I'm a super all or nothin', I'm a no one, going nowhere fast,
G G C C Am Am F F G G
But I don't care, but I don't care.

C C G G
Maybe the times we had, they weren't that bad
Am Am
And everything else was part of the plan
Dm Dm C C G G
We sang: "I don't know where we go from here"
C C G G Am Am F F
This is the alpha, omega, beginning and the end
C C G G C C
And we all just idolize the dead

C C G G Am Am
So you were born (So you were born), and that was a good day
Dm Dm C C G G
Someday you'll die (Someday you'll die), and that is a shame
C C G G Am Am F F
But somewhere in the between was a life of which we all dream
C C G G C C
And nothing and no one will ever take that away

C C G G Am Am
Me and Mr. Dylan on the ride home

F F C C G G
We had a heart-to-heart about life

C C G G Am Am Em Em
But neither him or me could decide for ourselves

F F G G
If we wanted to outlive that night

C C G G Am Am
Like two children on the playground of the unconfessed souls

F F C C G G
Abandoned by our mothers and our lovers and our foes

C C G G Am Am Em Em
If only we were brave enough to live the lives we stole

F F G G
What a wonderful world this could be!

C C
Na, na, na, na, na, na

G G
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na

Am Am F F
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

C C
Na, na, na, na, na, na

G G
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na

Am Am F F
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

C C G G Am Am
When as you close your eyes for the big sleep

F F
I hope you think of me, yeah

C C
Na, na, na, na, na, na

G G
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na

Am Am F F
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na

C C F F G G C C
So do the right thing or do nothing. What will you do when they come for you?
C C F F G G C C
Or just do what is easier. What will you do when they come for you?
C C F F G G C C
That's what I read what I swear they said to me. Nine times out of ten they lied to me
C C F F G G G G
And after all they had the guts to say Son, no one will save you now
Am Am F F C C G G
We want it, they got it. They claim we'll die without it
Am Am F F C C G G
But something tells me they are wrong

C C G G Am Am
So, how many more examples until we break?

F F C C G G
So how many sacrifices must we make?

C C G G
Because we've all been there once before

Am Am Em Em
And it looks like we've returned once more

F F G G
So is this the beginning or the end?

C C G G
The last two soldiers on the battlefield

Am Am
Survivors of the war

F F C C G G
They aim at one another while their mothers beg the lord

C C G G
"If you're listening, I'm missing him

Am Am Em Em
So somehow bring him home.

F F G G
How did it come to this?"

C C G G
So the soldiers lift their rifles

Am Am
And they're aiming at the head

F F C C G G
They think of their first love before they take their final breath

C C G G Am Am Em Em
And somewhere in the distance they hear something someone said:

F F G G
"How did it come to this?"

Outro Chorus

C C G G Am Am
When as you close your eyes for the big sleep

F F
I hope you think of me, yeah.

C C G G
Yeah, the times we had, they were not that bad
Am Am
And everything else, that was part of the plan
Dm Dm C C G G
And we sang, "I don't know where we go from here"
C C G G Am Am F F
This is the Alpha (Alpha!), Omega (Omega!), beginning and the end!

And someday soon my friends, this ride will come to an end

But we can't just get in line again.
