D D Em Em G G A A
I was riding shotgun with my hair undone in the front seat of his car
D D Em Em
He's got a one-hand feel on the steering wheel
G G A A
The other on my heart
D D Em Em
I look around, turn the radio down
G G A A
He says baby is something wrong?
D D Em Em G G A A
I say nothing I was just thinking how we don't have a song
And he says...

D D Em Em
Our song is the slamming screen door,
G G A A
Sneakin' out late, tapping on your window
D D Em Em G G
When you're on the phone and you talk real slow
A A D D
Cause it's late and your mama don't know
Em Em
Our song is the way you laugh
G G A A
The first date “man, I didn't kiss her, but I should have”
Em Em A A Em Em
And when I got home ... before I said amen
D D G G
Asking God if he could play it again

D D Em Em G G A A

D D Em Em G G A A
I was walking up the front porch steps after everything that day
D D Em Em
Had gone all wrong or been trampled on
G G A A
And lost and thrown away
D D Em Em G G A A
Got to the hallway, well on my way to my lovin' bed
D D Em Em
I almost didn't notice all the roses
G G A A
And the note that said...

D D Em Em
Our song is the slamming screen door,
G G A A
Sneakin' out late, tapping on your window
D D Em Em G G
When you're on the phone and you talk real slow
A A D D
Cause it's late and your mama don't know
Em Em
Our song is the way you laugh
G G A A
The first date “man, I didn't kiss her, but I should have”
Em Em A A Em Em
And when I got home ... before I said amen
D D G G
Asking God if he could play it again

D D Em Em G G A A
Da da da da
D D Em Em G G A A

Em Em G G
I've heard every album, listened to the radio
D D A A Em Em
Waited for something to come along
G G
That was as good as our song

D D Em Em
Cause our song is the slamming screen door
G G A A D D
Sneaking out late, tapping on his window
Em Em G G
When we're on the phone and he talks real slow
A A D D
Cause it's late and his mama don't know
Em Em
Our song is the way he laughs
G G A A
The first date “man, I didn't kiss him, and I could have”
Em Em A A Em Em
And when I got home ... before I said amen
D D G G D D Em Em G G A A
Asking God if he could play it again...

D D Em Em G G A A D D Em Em G G A A
Play it again... Ho yea ho yea

D D(1xstrum) Em Em(1xstrum)
I was riding shotgun with my hair undone
G G(1xstrum) A A(1xstrum)
In the front seat of his car
D D(1xstrum) Em Em(1xstrum)
I grabbed a pen and an old napkin
G G(1xstrum)
And I... wrote down our song...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all the Em chords supposed to be Bm?

Nice job! The chords sound great with the tune. I suggest realigning the chords to the lyrics, though; it gets messed up when you submit the tab. Experiment with hitting the preview button over and over again until it looks right, or just put the chords in parentheses before the words you play them on. I did this in my tabs; it's much easier. Check them out and rate if you know them! Good luck!

About this song: Our Song

Our Song, by Taylor Swift is featured on Taylor's debut self-titled album - and is the story of a couple who don't have a song. It is a dancy, catchy country song. Swift said (Source Our Song Songfacts): "I just sat down one day with my guitar and got in a groove, and went with it. I like to write about how music affects people, and this was fun to write because it's about a couple who DOESN'T have a song. I like the banjo and you really can't go wrong with banjo. I wanted it to be last on the album, because the last line of the chorus is 'play it again'.
