NOFX - Lori Meyers

INTRO:

Am Am F F G G E E

VERSE :

Am Am F F
Lori Meyers used to live upstairs
G G E E
Our parents had been friends for years
Am Am F F
Almost every afternoon we'd play forbidden games
G G E E
At nine years old there's no such shame
Am Am F F
It wasn't recognition of her face, what brought me back
G G E E
was a familiar mark as it flashed across the screen
Am Am F F
I bought some magazines, some video tape scenes
G G E E
Incriminating acts, I felt that I could save

VERSE 2:

Am Am F F
Who the hell are you to tell me how to live
G G E E
You think I sell my body, I merely sell my time
Am Am F F
I ain't no Cinderella, I ain't waiting for no prince
G G E E
To save me in fact until just now I was doing just fine

And on and on
Am Am
I know what degradation feels like
F F G G
I felt it on the floor at the factory
E E
Where I worked long before
Am Am F F
I took control now I answer to me
G G E E
The 50K I make this year will go anywhere I please
Am Am
Where's the problem

About this song: Lori Meyers

Noteworthy for the contribution of a punk chick voice that seems to be mistaken for many different punk female vocalists and leads (a notary example: 'Dude, that chick sings for Tilt..." which I bought for years until researching for myself recently...) this track from "Punk in Drublic" features none other than Kim Shattuck of the Muffs. And none of this argument even matters. All agree that whoever it is, she has the crustiest femal gutterpunk vocals to ever be recorded and released to the public. Read more on Last.fm.
