Biography Ookla The Mok
A filk band from Buffalo, New York that caters to a niche they call "rock music for nerds". Their music focuses on pop-culture icons like comic books, superheroes, '80s nostalgia, TV shows and movies. The band was founded in 1992 by college roommates Rand Bellavia and Adam English. In 1993, the duo hastily recorded a 16-song tape at an abandoned practice room at Buffalo State College and mailed it to themselves, hence the name of the unreleased demo "Poor Man's Copyright".
