The Some Girls are Bigger Than Others Songfacts says: As with every original Smiths recording, this song's music was composed by guitarist Johnny Marr and the lyrics were written by vocalist Morrissey. Having written the instrumentation, Marr was taken aback when the singer presented him with his proposed name for the song. "I was surprised when the title came about," he recalled to NME June 18, 2011, "It wasn't what I expected for the music, but who would expect that."
