Chorus 1:
A baritone chordA
It's been one week
D baritone chordD
since you looked at me
A baritone chordA
Cocked your head to the
D baritone chordD
side and said "I'm angry"
A baritone chordA
Five days since you
D baritone chordD
laughed at me saying
A baritone chordA
"Get that together
D baritone chordD
come back and see me"
A baritone chordA
Three days since
D baritone chordD
the living room
A baritone chordA
I realized it's all my
D baritone chordD
fault but couldn't tell you
A baritone chordA D baritone chordD
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
A baritone chordA
But it'll still be two
D baritone chordD
days till I say I'm sorry

Verse 1:
A baritone chordA(all the way)
Hold it now and watch the
hoodwink as I make you stop think
You'll think you're looking at Aquaman
I summon fish to the dish
although I like Chalet Swiss
I like the sushi cause it's never
touched a frying pan
Hot like wasabe when I bust
rhymes big like LeAnn Rimes
Because I'm all about value
Bert Kaempfert's got the
mad hits you try to match wits
You try to hold me but I bust through
Gonna make a break and take a fake
I'd like a stinkin' achin' shake
I like vanilla, it's the
finest of the flavours
Gotta see the show, 'cause then you'll
know the vertigo is gonna grow
Cause it's so dangerous
you'll have to sign a waiver

Refrain:
F#m baritone chordF#m E baritone chordE
How can I help it if I think
you're funny when you're mad
C#m baritone chordC#m
Tryin' hard not to
D baritone chordD
smile though I feel bad
F#m baritone chordF#m
I'm the kind of guy
E baritone chordE
who laughs at a funeral
C#m baritone chordC#m
Can't understand what I
D baritone chordD
mean? Well you soon will
F#m baritone chordF#m E baritone chordE
I have a tendency to wear
my mind on my sleeve
C#m baritone chordC#m
I have a history of
D baritone chordD
taking off my shirt

Chorus 2:
A baritone chordA
It's been one week since
D baritone chordD
you looked at me
A baritone chordA
Threw your arms in the air
D baritone chordD
and said "You're crazy"
A baritone chordA D baritone chordD
Five days since you tackled me
A baritone chordA
I've still got the rug
D baritone chordD
burns on both my knees
A baritone chordA
It's been three days
D baritone chordD
since the afternoon
A baritone chordA
You realized it's not my
D baritone chordD
fault not a moment too soon
A baritone chordA D baritone chordD
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
A baritone chordA
And now I sit back and
D baritone chordD
wait till you say you're sorry

Interlude: A-- x8

Verse 2:
A baritone chordA(all the way)
Chickity China the Chinese chicken
You have a drum stick and
your brain stops tickin
Watchin' X-Files with no lights
on we're dans la maison
(dans la maison...)
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Like Harrison Ford I'm getting
frantic Like Sting I'm tantric
Like snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like Kurasawa, I make mad
films; Okay, I don't make films
But If I did they'd have a Samurai
Gonna get a set of better
clubs gonna find the kind with tiny nubs
Just so my irons aren't
always flying off the back-swing
Gonna get in tune with Sailor
Moon cause the cartoon has got
The boom anime babes that make
me think the wrong thing

(Repeat Refrain)

Chorus 3:
A baritone chordA
It's been one week since
D baritone chordD
you looked at me
A baritone chordA
Dropped your arms to your sides
D baritone chordD
and said "I'm sorry" (hey)
A baritone chordA
Five days since I
D baritone chordD
laughed at you and said
A baritone chordA
"You just did just what I
D baritone chordD
thought you were gonna do"
A baritone chordA D baritone chordD
Three days since the living room
A baritone chordA
We realized we're both to
D baritone chordD
blame but what could we do?
A baritone chordA D baritone chordD
Yesterday you just smiled at me
A baritone chordA
Cause it'll still be two
D baritone chordD
days till we say we're sorry

Outro:
A baritone chordA(all the way)
It'll still be two days
till we say we're sorry
It'll still be two days
till we say wasabi
Birchmount stadium
A baritone chordA(hold)

About this song: One Week

"One Week" is a 1998 hit single by Barenaked Ladies. It is often regarded as the song that propelled the band to superstar status outside Canada. One reason for the song's popularity was the large number of pop culture references worked into the lyrics. It remains the band's biggest hit to date. The song gained renewed popularity when it was featured in an ad for the Mitsubishi Lancer, with groups of young people in the car seeming to sing along until they could not keep up with the rapid-fire lyrics. It was featured in the third installment of Big Shiny Tunes.
