(Beginner)
Key: D, BmChords
Capo on third/3rd fret!!

G G D D
The air begins to feel a little thin
Bm Bm A A
As I start the car and then I begin
G G D D
To add the miles piled up behind me
Bm Bm A A
I barely feel a smile deep inside me

G G D D
And I begin to envy the headlights driving south
Bm Bm A A
I want to crack the door so I can just fall out
G G D D
But then I remember when you packed my car
Bm Bm A A
You reached in the back and bucked up your heart

G G D D Bm Bm A A
For me to drive away with
G G D D Bm Bm
I began to understand
A A G G
Why God died

G G D D Bm Bm A A
[2x]

G G D D
The demon sat there waiting on her porch
Bm Bm A A
It was a little dark so we held a makeshift torch
G G D D
And when my car was far out of sight
Bm Bm A A
He crept in her room and stayed there for the night

G G
And then I felt chills in my bones
D D
The breath I saw was not my own
Bm Bm
I knew my skin that wrapped my frame
A A
Wasn't made to play this game
G G
And then I saw Him, torch in hand
D D
He laid it out, what he had planned
Bm Bm
And then I said, I'll take the grave
A A
Please, just send them all my way
[2x]

G G D D Bm Bm A A

G G D D Bm Bm
I began to understand
A A
Why God died

G G D D Bm Bm A A
[2x]

G G D D
The air begins to feel a little thin
Bm Bm A A
As we're waiting for the morning to begin
G G D D
But for now you told me to hold this jar
Bm Bm
And when I looked inside, I saw
A A
It held your heart

G G D D Bm Bm A A
For me to walk away with
G G D D Bm Bm
I began to understand
A A
Why God died

G G D D

dude if you're that bothered by my suggestion to use a capo (which would literally be $7 or less out of pocket, not to mention the fact that you can make one out of a pencil and a rubber band) keep it to yourself lmao this was just my interpretation of the song

There's literally no reason this song should be capo'd. Do we honestly seem like a group of people who have money for that? In any case, for those who are also frustrated over this, the chord progression is as follows:

Bb,F,Dm,C throughout.

Again, easy open chords. The capo is needlessly complicated.
