Beginner's Chords To Know - level 2 feedback
New to Uke? Learn how to play with easy Ukulele Lessons for beginners.

Now that you have some basic chords down, here's the next level up!

Here are some basic chords to begin playing with, starting out easy and geting gradually harder. The next lesson I post will contain chords I see fitting to know once you've gotten this set memorized.

By memorized I mean you can remember the finger positioning, title, and can easily swich between the ones you know.

Don't worry if you cant get everthing right away, these things can take time :)

Dm chord

- index finger, third string, first space

- middle finger, second string, second space down

- ring finger, first string, second space down

Ukulele chord : Dm

Em chord

- index finger, fourth string, second space down

- middle finger, third string, third space down

- ring finger, second string, fourth space down

~ (kinda like stairs or something)

 Ukulele chord : Em

D chord

- thunb, second space down, strings 1-3

~ (this is what I personally prefer)

OR

- ring finger, second string, second space down

- middle finger, third string, second space down

- index finger, first string, second space down

 Ukulele chord : D

A chord

- index finger, second string, first space

- middle finger, first string, second space down

 Ukulele chord : A

These should be able to get you through some slightly more advanced songs

After getting a feel for putting your fingers in each position, try to work on switching between each of them.

As an example try to play this :

Dm Dm Dm Dm Em Em Em Em D D D D A A A A

(just something I made up this time)

or maybe speed it up a bit

Dm Dm Em Em D D A A

When you have it down, move on to new chords!
