Step Tab par Vampire Weekend (Accords Baryton)

# This is my version of step. I realize it is higher than the original but easier to play, and it's better for higher voices.

C Cmaj7 Am G

The Chorus is the same as the verse:

     C Cmaj7 Am
The gloves are off, the wisdom teeth are out
          G
What you on about?
    F C F G
I feel it in my bones, I feel it in my bones
     C Cmaj7 Am
I'm stronger now, I'm ready for the house
        G
Such a modest mouse,
   F C F G
I can't do it alone, I can't do it alone

C Cmaj7 Am G
Every time I see you in the world, you always step to my girl

F C F G

Verse 2:

C Cmaj7
Ancestors told me that their girl was better
       Am G
She's richer than Croesus, she's tougher than leather
F C
I just ignored all the details of a past life
F G
Stale conversation deserves but a bread knife
     C Cmaj7
And punks who would laugh when they saw us together
       Am G
Well, they didn't know how to dress for the weather
F C
I can still see them there huddled on Astor
F G
Snow falling slow to the sound of the master

Chorus

Bridge
(just play the same chord pattern)

Verse 3:

C Cmaj7
Wisdom's a gift, but you'd trade it for youth
Am G
Age is an honor - it's still not the truth
F C
We saw the stars when they hid from the world
F G
You cursed the sun when it stepped to your girl
C Cmaj7
Maybe she's gone and I can't resurrect her
     Am G
The truth is she doesn't need me to protect her
F C
We don't know the true death, the way of all flesh
F G
Everyone's dying, but girl - you're not old yet

Chorus
