Finding a strumming pattern is fairly easy if you know what a tempo/rhythm is. Once you get the hang of it, it’s very easy and you can know a strumming pattern to basically every song you decide to play.

step 1

find the tempo and rhythm of the song you’re learning to play. So listen to it, tap your foot along with it, feel the music. Hey maybe even do a mini dance, as long as you find the rhythm then you’re doing great.

step 2

listen to the song and play along with it. Try to find a comfortable pattern that matches what you’re listening to. the most common strumming pattern is (down, down, up, up, down,up) in case you can’t find one then start with it and change it as you go.

harder songs have more complex strumming patterns but if you keep practicing and follow the steps above you should have it in no time.
