I've got a bike. You can ride it if you like.

G G
It's got a basket, a bell that rings and things to make it look good.

D D G G
I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.

D D
You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.

I'll give you anything, everything if want things.

G G C7 C7
I've got a cloak. It's a bit of a joke.

G G
There's a tear up the front. It's red and black. I've had it for months.

D D G G
If you think it could look good, then I guess it should.

D D
You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.

I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

G G C7 C7
I know a mouse, and he hasn't got a house.

G G
I don't know why. I call him Gerald.

D D G G
He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse.

D D
You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.

I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

G G C7 C7
I've got a clan of gingerbread men.

G G
Here a man, there a man, lots of gingerbread men.

D D G G
Take a couple if you wish. They're on the dish.

D D
You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.

I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

G G C7 C7
I know a room of musical tunes.

G G
Some rhyme, some ching. Most of them are clockwork.

D D G G
Let's go into the other room and make them work.

About this song: Bike

...allegedly inspired by a large Raleigh bicycle belonging to his new Cambridge girlfriend Jenny Spires... although she has since dismissed the connection as rubbish. -- Watkinson/Anderson, Crazy Diamond, p 32. 'The Bike Song' (aka "Bike") .... the forthcoming album's [i.e. Piper at the Gates of Dawn -- eH] closer. Cliff ["Syd's Blind From Diabetes"] Jones wrote, The tempo changes at the end of every verse. The rising glissando note that finishes each chorus was achieved using a crude oscillator and varispeeding the tape down while the track was running.
