27 July 2010 :: New Design !
Since we opened UT, we added too many features and the old design was very unfriendly and confusing. We also needed space to add more cool stuff. Here is what's new :
- 100% New layout,
- Website fully W3C valid ! (not compatible with IE6)
- Page loading speed increased (by more than 50%!),
- New pages : FAQ, iPhone App, Advanced searches (reverse search by chords, member search, random search, advanced search), Shop, Concert/Baritone/Tenor chord charts, Monthly/Overall Tops.
- French and German Translations 100% up to date
13 July 2010 :: iPhone App released
7 June 2010 :: We've created a script to remove the lyrics on the fly. Our dev did an amazing job !
21 May 2010 :: A UT Team made of members now manages the website !
18 May 2010 :: We're back online. 50% of the tabs (those not cleaned yet) are still offline.
24 April 2010 :: The UT community started to remove the lyrics from the tabs.
21 April 2010 :: We met an European copyright specialist, our idea of removing the lyrics works. We will reopen.
18 March 2010 :: We're trying to clarify what permissions are needed to publish the tabs. All the tabs are offline.

When you sign in, you can now decide to stay logged in, and you won't be logged out automatically.

Unfortunatly we failed to put back online all the missing tabs before the end of 2009, as expected.
There are more than 4000 tabs still offline, but we finally decided to hide them, as suggested by many users. This fundamental change permitted us to improve once again the website, and how users rate tabs. In short :
- pending tabs must be approved or rejected before being put online. It means that unregistered members can't view pending tabs anymore : they have to be checked by a minimum of 3 votes (instead of 6 before), up to 5, depending on the votes.
Additionnaly, you can view other approved versions of a song to limitate useless duplicated tabs.
- Artist pages show additional interesting informations to make your search easy : in just one look you can compare different versions of a song (type, part, rating)
- Once approved, a tab can cast an unlimited number of votes (it was limited to 6 before)
- Due to the increasing number of tab requests, we decided to put a time limit on requested tabs. After a month, requests will be automatically deleted from the website. But because we don't want our members being frustated, we also added a new tool to manage your tab request (available on your personnal homepage). You can now either choose to extend the time limit or delete the request (what was impossible before)
- File formats allowed for your avatar now include GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF. (with a max size of 15Ko)
- It is possible to search for members,
- View who's online (click the link 'x' ukulele players online),
- Top Tabs will be reset each month (we keep total # of hits for forthcoming overall rankings)
- Various small bug fixes,
- Tabs updated to the new database structure. Here is the stats :

- Private messaging : Send PMs to other members !
- Alert/Info messages : You will know in real time if a member has posted a new comment to your tab, or if a uke player answered one of yours on someone else's tab. We will inform members about our answers to their requests (feedbacks, New lessons...) via this box as well,
- Maibox : View In/Out messages,
- Tab requests : New page to request / view requested uke tabs. Each member can request one tab at the same time. It is also possible to view the last 25 honoured requests,
- Online/Offline status : see if a user is online or not,
- Songbook : Bookmark your favorite tabs and manage them in your Songbook,
- Add as a friend (+ Friend list) : shortcuts to send PMs to your friends, see who is online or not...
- Say what's on your mind : update your status (facebook-like option),
- Tab editing : Members are now able to edit their own tabs (a full edited tab will be pending again...),
- Tab Submitting form : More infos are requested (Tab Type, Uke Size) for a forthcoming advanced search; It is no more required to list chords for tabs without chords,
- Pending tabs : New paginated list with column sorters,
- Improved search engine : More accurate, less stupid...
- Minor bug fixes + some optimizations in our website engine,

- members can now edit their own tabs (if you edit a validated tab it will be pending again).
5/7 September :: Uke chords update
- 'm9' and '7sus4' chords were added in the chords chart, total # of chords in database is now 184.
- Complete and basic Ukulele Chord charts available for download (.pdf format)
