All the performance notes are from my experiences playing this song on my uke, so that's me not the author of the UG Archive post, I didn't try to transpose the tab because Hendrix is so hard to play on the uke that I figured chords are just easier for my sanity and yours ;)

If you barre the top 3 strings like a D-chord, you can just slide it up and down the fretboard for the different chords in the beginning, except for the A-chord, which is easy enough, all the way through the first Bm.
