How to get that bouncy Hawaiian strum (as used by the great Israel Kamaka..... 'ole in Somewhere over the Rainbow/ what a wonderful world)

The key is that it is not just a strum.

Important is that you need to pick the C string at the beginning of every measure. I suggest you do that with your thumb.

your rythm should be: (P=pick C string)

P DU UD| P DU UD |P DU UD....

start practicing it very slowly until you get it up to speed
