It sounds much better on the "vacancy signs" line if you add a Csus4 before the C. Also, I recommend the D-DU strumming pattern for this one.

Strumming pattern us DDUUDU except for the quick changes at the end of two lines in the chorus which is two down strums on each chord (on 'satisfied' and 'embarks'. The F Am should be F C and the Dm Am shoudl be Dm F.

I dont' use a strum pattern for this song. Use fingerpicking (one finger per string) to play 1(top)-2-3-4-pause-2-3-4-etc.It's a little more challenging to play but it's worth it.
