Edit: Also on AM, DM and G, I do the DD UU D twice, C and E only once.

Guys until "And I die," I do a one down on each chord, kind of just 1 down and sing the words until the music fades. But when I get to and I die, I do a strumming pattern that is DD UU D, but the first down is a strong one. So really go down on the strings. Kind of works for me.
