I do DDU as a strumming pattern, anyone tried something else?

Mmmm...to me the original Am sounds much better than the C. Different ears :)

Definitely sounds better when you replace Am with C.

But I personally like how it sounds if you replace the second chord (Am) with a C

You got the chord progression perfect, but I like to play a different voicing of the second chord, the Am. From top to bottom string, I use frets 5, 4, 5, and 3. That way you get the Am chord, but rising in pitch from the first chord, just like the song.
