"Loser" was Beck's first single for Geffen Records. The song was released from the 1994 album "Mellow Gold" & hit #10 on the American charts. Although this was Beck's third studio album, it was his first on a major label. According to the Loser Songfacts, Beck got the idea for this from his friend who always called him "Loser." Beck decided to write it into a chorus of a song as a joke. He didn't think anything would ever come of it.
