Lanikai Makes Me Happy

Postby BeZo » 08 Aug 2012, 00:53

My first ukulele is a Lanikai, and I've been really happy with it. I think I'm about ready to get another one though. I usually collect stuff like that, as I'm a total gear nut with all my other instruments. Anyone got anything they like better than Lanikai?

Dude I got a Lanikai CK-C and it is awesome. But if you want something alittle nicer I'd look at KoAloha, Kanilea, Kamaka, or Martin ukes are very nice ones :uke:

I had a Lanikai tenor and was not so happy with it.

Try Mainland Ukes if you are looking at a comparable price-range. Mike is a super-cool guy and has a great reputation.

I too started out with a Lanikai and I loved it! it was such a HUGE upgrade from those crappy plastic ones you buy at walmart...but now I have an acoustic/electric Cordoba ukulele that I love!!! It has such a fuller sound then my previous ukuleles. If your looking for a higher quality 200$ fuller sounding ukulele get a Cordoba

My first and only uke right now is a Lanikai LU-21T. LOVE IT! Great sound and great playability. When I get some more cash, I might upgrade but for a beginner uke, it is a lovely instrument.

Lanikai was my first too and it is definitely still my favorite! It feels warm and happy. I made the huge mistake of not getting well informed before chosing a new one, i just went to my fave music store and bought the most expensice they had: absolutely nothing compared to my Lani :)

I just got a Lanikai CK-C... it seems unfinished.

Are their satin finishes this rough? Should I return it?

My Lanikai felt unfinished as well, however after a couple of months it seems to have smoothed out, most likely from handling it or maybe not being stored in a cardboard box has helped.

my first and only uke so far is a lanikai lu-21 (named Nowaki), and it makes me painfully happy. my fingers are SORE after spending so much time playing it. and it also makes my friends happy, as i turned out to be the great uke converter: they're rushing over to buy theirs. ♥
