Classical fingerpicking patterns

Postby ruukie » 05 Aug 2012, 11:05

Still new to this forum, I'd like to introduce some classical fingerpicking patterns which may be useful for the uke although they are adapted from classical guitar. Have fun with these exercises:

That was great. Thank you for sharing!

I had trouble following both because I am not using low-G tuning and because I can't really read your tabs. Can you post them somewhere?

That said, I intend to keep coming back to this exercise to learn from it. You rock

The fingernails are the last survivors of an ancient time of mine :D)
Since god gave me four fingers I'm now absolutely satisfied and happy with just four strings.

So I have been working on this. I thought I would post some progress, since I am proud of how far this humble (and rather suckkular) noob has come

I just picked a few random chords I thought looked pretty next to each other ...

The dog is named Arrow

yeah, much work to do, but since I've only been playing since March I'm still happy!

Thanks, shugabella!

I know I have a long way to go but it always feels nice to know that the work is beginning to pay off

Arrow (girl-doggie) is a good dog and usually doesn't interefere. Of course I kept messing up when I was trying to record this, and finally when it started to go right her need arose.

Aren't there given within the video?
I'm not doing much on chords there. I just pick the A chord (2100) and move on on the A major scale (in thirds) on the two top strings. Still need tabs for that? You can exercise this with any chords you like.

Thanks Ruukie! They are in the vid but really hard to see. I don't know what a third is yet but I guess now I have a reason to learn :top:
